A very pretty Dutch (Hoorn?) sampler made by GHA in 1814.
Finely worked with silk on a linen ground in a variety of stitches (cartouches worked in point de riz)
In a very good condition. Strong colors.
The initials HA and BDT possibly stand for GHA's parents. The sampler is rather flowery for its type and has an exceptional grape vine border.
Size: 46 x 46 cm or about 18 inch inch square, not framed Price: upon request please.
